Artist Profiles: David de Arahal

Flamenco guitarist and composer David Rodríguez, better known as David de Arahal, was born in Arahal (Seville province).

He started playing at the age of 10 at his local music school. He received classes and advice from teachers such as Manolo Sanlúcar, Víctor Monge Serranito, Rafael Riqueni, Paco Cepero, Gerardo Núñez and Tomatito, to name a few.

In 2021, at the age of 21, he released his first solo work: ‘Mar verde’, with the collaboration of Miguel Poveda and Antonio Canales, among others.

In 2022, David de Arahal continued to study at the “Rafael Orozco” Superior Conservatory of Music in Córdoba. He has performed and shared stage with some of the biggest names in Flamenco.

  1. I love David’s playing! I just ordered a couple of his CDs/vinyl and they are wonderful! He has a delicacy and lyricism and melodic sense that he clearly values over fast picado type virtuosity (though he also has that!).

    I’m curious if anyone knows what make of guitar he plays?
