Bryan McDowell Calls Back With “Hear My Name”

Bluegrass multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Bryan McDowell returns with “Hear My Name,” a reflective single about the ambiguity of reconnection.

The lineup includes Cory Walker on banjo, Jake Stargel on guitar, and Mike Bub on bass. McDowell adds fiddle, mandolin, and lead vocals.

There’s always this tension when you get back together with someone,” McDowell says. “You’re never sure how they’ve felt during the time apart—whether it’s been sleepless and aching or just a dull, distant wondering. And when you see them again, you don’t know if they’re still into you, or if you’ve just caught the common delusion that they are. The protagonist of this song lives in that fog.”
