Ne Lintuizet, a Finnish folk supergroup founded in 2024, unites four seasoned songwriters: Pekko Käppi, Laura Moisio, Kielo Kärkkäinen, and Lauri Myllymäki. Their remarkable vocal harmonies and freely breathing musical dialogue quickly won audiences over during their debut tour in the autumn of 2024.

On May 16, 2025, the band released its debut album Uusi huone (New Room). The record radiates intimacy and warmth, with the quartet’s nuanced vocal work at its core. The band draws inspiration from the deep well of folk music. Influences range from the Neil Young-inspired golden era of folk rock across the Atlantic to rich Finnish folk traditions. Notably, Ne Lintuizet crafts songs that explore life in the shadow of uncertainty and looming global threats. Reflections on upheaval in the music industry, the fragile livelihood of cultural workers, and the erosion of the artistic ecosystem appear as undercurrents. Yet despair does not define their voice.

Instead, Ne Lintuizet presents stories of human connection and friendship, the psychedelia of dreams, childlike imagination, and the presence of humor.

The songs tell of supernatural visitors, everyday bonds between friends, and meditations on dreams, money, and the final power of death.
