Born in Ivory Coast and currently based in Atlanta, drummer/percussionist Yakou N’guessan scores with “Tchapalo” (named for a traditional beverage) a layered piece of jazz fusion featuring interlocking Afro-Latin beats, a swirling melody and soprano saxophone for sweetening.
