Playing For Change and Peace Through Music: A Global Event for the Environment

Playing For Change and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)’s Peace Through Music: A Global Event for the Environment will take place December 15th, 2021 on the Playing for Change YouTube channel. The event will feature performances with 200 artists from more than 35 countries representing multiples genres such as rock, blues, world music, etc.

The lineup includes Black Pumas, Baaba Maal, Jake Shimabukuro, Keb’ Mo’, Rhiannon Giddens, Taj Mahal, Zakir Hussain, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Sara Bareilles, Slash, and The Lumineers. together with world leaders and influencers.

Artist performances, Songs Around The World and special documentaries will also capture the beauty and fragility of the environment during the hour-long event which seeks to take action for a sustainable future and advance progress towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

All net proceeds will go to organizations that prioritize real-time solutions that facilitate environmental justice and sustainability, including Conservation International, American Rivers, World Wildlife Fund, REVERB, and the Playing For Change Foundation. Part of the funds raised will advance education programs led by the Playing For Change Foundation with the support of UNFPA to positively impact the lives and choices of adolescents and youth around the globe.
