Zea Releases Frisian-language Album Witst noch dat d’r near wie

Witst noch dat d’r near wie (Makkum Records) is the second Frisian-language album from Zea, the project of Dutch musician Arnold de Boer. The album features minimal acoustic guitar play and intimate poetic lyrics.

Friesland is a province in the north of The Netherlands; Fries is officially the second language of The Netherlands, spoken world-wide by almost half a million people.

De Boer is a native Frisian speaker and language and linguistics are recurring themes on the album and in his life. In the accompanying songbook all lyrics have been translated into four languages.
