Superb Guitar Mastery from Latin America

Duo Coincidencia – Veracruz – Sones y Flores (Cugate Clásicos Latinos, 2020)

Veracruz – Sones y Flores presents a set of delightful, masterfully performed guitar duo pieces from Duo Coincidencia.  Although the award-winning duo has been around for several years, this is their debut album.

Duo Coincidencia includes Cuban guitar maestra Martha Eugenia Salado Mondeja, who is currently a professor at the Higher Music Institute in Veracruz, Mexico; and Mexican virtuoso and fellow educator Dr. Carlos Muñiz Díaz.

The artists selected compositions by Latin American and Spanish classical and popular music composers, including Rubén Fuentes (Mexico), Ernesto Lecuona y Casado (Cuba), Jorge Cardoso (Argentina/Spain), Agustin Lara (Mexico), Manuel de Falla (Spain), and Eduardo Martín and Wilfredo Domínguez (Cuba).

The beautiful, well-constructed pieces on Veracruz – Sones y Flores reveal the passionate and flavorful Hispanic American and Spanish classical guitar traditions.
