Rafa del Calli Claims Flamenco’s Lámpara Minera in La Unión

Córdoba singer Rafael Plantón Heredia, known professionally as Rafa del Calli, won the Lámpara Minera at the 65th Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas in La Unión, Murcia, Spain.

Rafa del Calli secured the festival’s top singing honor after his performance at the Antiguo Mercado Público. The Lámpara Minera, one of flamenco’s most prestigious competition awards, carries a €15,000 prize.

The singer also collected three special awards during the competition. He received €2,000 for his cantiña, €3,000 for his malagueña and €6,000 for his performance of mineras.
