Minyo Crusaders Make NYC Debut with Folk Music Reimagined

Japan’s Minyo Crusaders is set to perform at The Sultan Room on September 22, 2026.

The Minyo Crusaders are known for reinterpreting traditional Japanese folk songs through the lens of Caribbean, Latin American, and African musical influences.

Founded in 2011 in Fussa, Japan, the group gained international attention with its debut album and the single “Cumbia Del Monte Fuji.” The band has since performed across North and South America and appeared at major international festivals. Their latest album is Echoes of Japan.
