“Emosido Engañado” (we’ve been fooled) is the latest single from El Jose, part of the soundtrack for a short film starring recent Goya Award winner Salva Reina.
The song about disillusionment and defiance mixes street flamenco rumba with ironic and heartfelt lyrics. Its chorus, “si a este mundo vinimos, no es pa’ dejarlo así…” has already resonated with audiences. Lines such as “nadie nos habló de la declaración de la renta… ni de que las abuelas no duraban para siempre” reflect a mix of humor and existential reflection. As with much of his work, El Jose draws on personal and collective experience to craft songs that function as social commentary, emotional release, and celebration.
“Emosido Engañado” will appear on El Jose’s upcoming album, the follow-up to Seguro de na’ (2021), the self-produced record that expanded the group’s reach across Spain and Latin America. That album solidified their reputation, leading to sold-out shows and widespread acclaim.

Formed in 2015 in Granada’s Albayzín district, El Jose centers on lyricist, vocalist, and guitarist Jose Miguel Romerosa. The group also includes bassist Alberto Sapillo (Jaén, Spain), drummer Nano Díaz (Jaén, Spain), keyboardist/flutist Juanma García Navia (Badajoz, Spain, guitarist Julián Suárez (Argentina), and percussionist Jesús Santiago (Granada, Spain).
