The cover of Cristian de Moret's single La Flor del Almendro (Bulería) features the artist in a desert-like landscape, arms raised in a posture of devotion or surrender. He wears sunglasses and a bare chest. Above him, the title appears in bold stencil-like typography, with the letter "A" stylized as a red triangle with a yellow accent.

Almond Blossom in Bloom: Cristian de Moret Blends Bulería with Bold Vision

Cristian de Moret, the singer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer from Huelva, continues to expand the boundaries of flamenco with each release. His latest single, “La Flor del Almendro,” offers a transcendent take on the traditional bulería, reinforcing his signature mix of heritage and innovation.

From his early singles, such as the anti-war “Electro Petenera” and the soul-infused “Malagueña Soul,” Moret has shown a knack for combining genres without compromising depth. Each track has paved the way toward his highly anticipated third album, Apache Bereber, due in autumn 2025.

Moret first made waves in 2021 with Supernova, a debut that earned critical acclaim and secured a spot in El País‘s Top 50 Albums of the Year. He also garnered praise from established artists like Fuel Fandango and Kiko Veneno. His 2023 follow-up, Caballo Rojo, confirmed the promise, anchoring flamenco in bold cross-genre experimentation.

With Apache Bereber, Moret sets his sights on connecting Afro-Arabic and American roots traditions through a flamenco lens, layered with electronica. The album will feature guest appearances from acclaimed artists Rocío Márquez and Raimundo Amador, the latter having previously collaborated with him on “La Resaca de tu Adiós.”

La Flor del Almendro offers a glimpse into this ambitious fusion, pairing the spiritual force of flamenco vocals with North African trance rhythms. Echoes of Pink Floyd and Andalusian progressive rock pioneers Triana emerge amid claps and synthesizers, hinting at a project rooted in tradition but aimed at new frontiers.

Importantly, Cristian de Moret remains self-produced, a detail that underscores his artistic independence.
