Africa Oyé Festival has named Fatoumata Diawara as its latest announced act for this summer’s event in Liverpool.
The Grammy-nominated Malian guitarist and singer returns to Sefton Park in June, 15 years after her first UK festival appearance at Africa Oyé.
Nigerian Afrobeats artist Patoranking will also appear, marking his Liverpool debut. He has collaborated with Major Lazer, Wizkid, and Davido, and his videos have amassed close to one billion streams on YouTube.
Congolese eco-punk collective Fulu Miziki also joins the bill. The group made its UK debut at WOMAD in 2022, then played festivals including Glastonbury, We Out Here, and Green Man, known for repurposed instruments and recycled costumes.
Africa Oyé will take place on June 20–21, 2026, and will move to a ticketed format after a dormant year in 2025.
