Swarupa Ananth, Melisa Yildirim – Hues Of Imagination (self-release, 2023)
Indian musician and composer Swarupa Ananth and Turkish instrumentalist and composer Melisa Yildirim met at a music residency in Florida (OneBeat Residency, The Atlantic Center For The Arts). They decided to play together, with Melisa on the kamancha and Swarupa on the tabla.
The two musicians played two remarkable improvisations, feeling a strong connection and familiarity with each other, and ended up sitting in silence, feeling grateful for the universe bringing them together. The live improvisation album they made together, Hues Of Imagination, reveals the power of music to connect people beyond time and tradition.
