The album “La Recia” by Colombian joropo band Cimarrón is the number one album at the Transglobal World Music Chart in July 2022.
“La Recia” means “the tough woman” in Spanish and refers to Ana Veydó’s vision as a bandleader and producer of an album that defies the stereotype of Colombian cowboy and honors indigenous traditions.
This new musical journey goes deeper into the ancient spirituality of the Orinoco River and brings back forgotten sounds from the borders between the plains and the rainforest, such as the sound of Manguaré, a percussion instrument never recorded before.
