Eva Tejedor Mier was born in Avilés, northern Spain. Eva has been researching the Asturian tambourine for over 20 years, focusing on its traditional songs, playing styles and evolution of the instrument. She recorded several albums with her family band Tejedor, a Celtic music band specialized in Asturian music.
In 2015, Eva released her first solo work, “Ramos en Peñamellera Baja”.
In 2018 she won the AMAS award in the category of other instruments (tambourine) and was awarded the 5th Manegueru de Nava percussion award.
Eva’s ensemble, Les Pandereteres (the tambourine players) was formed in 2015 with a group of her students. In 2016 they received the “Special Bronze Grouse” award. In 2017 they made their official presentation in Avilés. In 2019, they released their first album, “L’Entamu” produced by Javi Tejedor.
Eva teaches traditional percussion at the School of Traditional Music of Castrillón, Grao and Candamo. She is the director of bagpipe bands “Conceyu Candamo” and “Conceyu Grao.”
