Will Clark: Accomplished Bluegrass Mandolinist

Will Clark, a celebrated bluegrass musician from Pickens, in Upstate South Carolina, is known for his unique approach to mandolin, guitar, banjo, and bass. He began his musical journey at age nine, starting with the mandolin and later adding guitar to his repertoire. His style combines influences from bluegrass icons such as Adam Steffey, Bill Monroe, Clay Jones, and Tony Rice, creating a hard-driving, rhythm-focused sound that resonates throughout the bluegrass community.

Clark’s “legendary” mandolin chop, a rhythm technique that stands out on the circuit, has become a signature trait, instantly recognizable to bluegrass followers. His strong rhythm and versatile style make him a highly sought-after player, both as a soloist and as part of renowned bands.

He has worked with notable acts like the James King Band, Williamson Branch, Bluegrass Outlaws, The Nashville Celts, Nathan Stanley, and his own Will Clark & Rhythm Section. Currently, he leads as vocalist and mandolinist with Terry Baucom’s Dukes of Drive, contributing to their acclaimed album Here in the Country.

In 2022, Clark achieved three chart-topping hits alongside the Dukes of Drive, with one single debuting at #1 on the Bluegrass Today charts. His vocal style, known for its depth and clarity, adds a distinct layer to his music, complementing his hard-driving bass and intricate banjo technique.

In October 2024, Clark released “Carolina Lightning,” the debut single from his forthcoming album.
