Prominent Festival globalFEST Reveals 2023 Lineup

American world music showcase globalFEST has announced the 2023 lineup. The influential event is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the festival, which will happen across three stages at Lincoln Center’s newly-renovated David Geffen Hall on Sunday, January 15, 2023, as part of Lincoln Center Presents. 

2023 Lineup

Dengue Fever (US / Cambodia) 1960s-style Cambodian pop and psychedelic rock

Justin Adams & Mauro Durante (UK / Italy) Violin and guitar improvisations from southern Italian laments to gritty desert blues.

Khadija El Warzazia’s Bnat el Houariyat & Esraa Warda (Morocco / Algeria / USA) Women’s ecstatic song and dance from the heart of Marrakech.

The Legendary Ingramettes (USA). Six decades of roof-raising female harmonies and house-rocking gospel.

María José Llergo (Spain). Southern Spain’s new voice of Flamenco.  

Meridian Brothers & El Grupo Renacimiento (Colombia). Electrifying underground Tropical Latin visionaries dive into a fantastical past.

Moonlight Benjamin (Haiti / France) Caribbean blues-rock from voodoo queen priestess.

New York Arabic Orchestra (USA / Various) Preeminent New York City music collective representing Arabic music.

Son Rompe Pera (Mexico) Garage-punk-cumbia marimba madness.

Tamikrest (Mali / France) 21st Century Tamasheq (Tuareg) desert-blues rock from the Sahara.

globalFEST has jumpstarted the US touring careers of many notable artists, including Antibalas, Amythyst Kiah, Angelique Kidjo, DakhaBrakha,  Jupiter and Okwess, Martha Redbone, Rhiannon Giddens and more.

The year’s lineup is selected by festival directors Bill Bragin, Isabel Soffer and Shanta Thake, who is also the Chief Artistic Officer of Lincoln Center, plus guest curator Meera Dugal.
