Femi Kuti, the eldest son of the iconic activist and Afrobeat founder, Fela Kuti, will tour North America in 2022. These will be his first headline shows in the region in nearly five years. Femi will perform with his stellar 12-piece band, The Positive Force.
Throughout the tour, Femi will present songs from across his three decade career, most notably his latest release, Grammy-nominated ‘Legacy +,’ which is a special two-album project released last year on Partisan Records with Femi’s son, Mádé. Moreover, Mádé also plays in Femi’s band and will perform a few of his own songs.
‘Legacy +’ is nominated for Best Global Music Album (global music oddly replaced the world music category), and Femi’s song “Pà Pá Pà” is nominated for Best Global Music Performance at this year’s GRAMMY Awards.
