On the Path to St. Patrick: GF Morgan

American multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter GF Morgan has a background in folk music and bluegrass. However, his main focus for many years has been Celtic music and specifically Irish traditional music.

Morgan’s new album is Driftwood (GF Morgan, 2020). Morgan delivers an excellent set of skillfully performed recreations of traditional Irish songs and original compositions as well, combining lively and evocative instrumentals and engaging vocal pieces.

The lineup includes GF Morgan on vocals, guitars and concertina; Nancy Brown on violin; Buddy Osthaus on whistle; Sean Heely on violin; Peter Kane on mandolin; Chris Gray on uilleann pipes and whistles; and Carter Newell on violin.

St. Patrick’s Day will take place March 17, 2021. St. Patrick’s Day celebrates the music and culture of Ireland and the Irish diaspora in many countries.
