Venezuelan Singer-songwriter Ana Cecilia Loyo delivers a set of contemporary folk songs rooted in Venezuelan traditions. Sol Mayor is her debut album and was produced by cuatro player Héctor Molina of famed cuatro ensemble C4Trío.

Ana Cecilia Loyo has a wonderful l voice and she showcases various Venezuelan folk styles such as gaita de furro, golpe larense, bambuco, merengue, vals, and gaita de tambora.

Throughout the album, Ana Cecilia’s charming vocals dance around the masterful cuatro, mandolin and unexpected bassoon and melodica on a handful of tracks.

The prominent guest musicians include Héctor Molina on cuatro; Jorge Torres on mandolin; Roberto Koch on bass; Luis Pino on cuatro; Leonel Ruiz on piano; Rolando Canónico on percussion; Eduardo Betancourt on harp; and the Venezuela Inmensa choral group.
