Big Sun – Big Sun

Big Sun – Big Sun (Homerecords, 2016)

After reading a book featuring illustrations and pictures, three Belgian musicians got together to form Big Sun. It’s a contemporary acoustic instrumental band inspired by classical music, jazz and American roots music (primarily contemporary bluegrass and blues). The group uses banjo, lap steel, fiddle, harmonica and guitar to create charming, evocative pieces.

Personnel: Benoît Casen on guitar and banjo; Boris Iori on lap steel guitar, guitar and harmonica; Renaud Lhoest on keyboards and violin. Guest: Johanne Samek on keyboards.
