The album cover for Airdan – Cosmic features a dreamlike painting of a green, humanoid creature with elongated limbs and glowing eyes, crouched beneath a massive, whale-like figure suspended in a starry, aquatic sky. Brushstrokes swirl through deep blues and greens, with white flowers blooming at the edge.

Trad Stars Align on Àirdan’s ‘Cosmic’ Debut

Scottish quartet Àirdan has released a contemporary trad debut album titled Cosmic. The Celtic band features Paul Sinclair (fiddle), Coll Williamson (accordion), David Lennon (guitar), and Ewa Adamiec (drums). Àirdan plays traditional Scottish, Irish, and Swedish melodies alongside original tunes and works by modern composers, all shaped by the band’s rhythmic drive and inventive arrangements.

Produced by Anna Massie, the album was recorded and mixed at Gran’s House by Angus Lyon and Chris Waite, and mastered by Sam Proctor at Lismore Mastering. Cosmic reflects a new generation’s creative approach to folk roots.
