José Fermín Fernández is set to perform on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 7 p.m. at Joe’s Pub as part of Flamenco Festival NY.
Born in Granada, Fernández trained in the city’s traditional tablaos and has emerged among a new generation of flamenco guitarists inspired by classic forms while developing an individual style. In 2019, he won two major flamenco guitar awards: the Bordón Minero at the Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas and first prize at the National Flamenco Guitar Competition of Córdoba.
The program is billed as an intimate flamenco guitar set, spotlighting Fernández’s approach to traditional repertoire with refined technique and expressive nuance.
