Kovcheg Club Ensemble presents a recording that transcends time and space, “My Golden-Winged Dove: Russian Songs from Siberia” originating from the Irkutsk Region. The ensemble, passionately devoted to the art of calendar-ritual reconstruction, delves into the realm of ancient Russian settlers residing in the Angara area, unveiling their mesmerizing melodies. It is important to note that some of these songs were discovered in villages now submerged beneath the cascading waters of the Angara River, casualties of the hydroelectric power station construction.
My Golden-Winged Dove takes us on a journey to various locations. The poetic village of Kharat, nestled within the Ust-Ordynsky (Ekhirit-Bulagatsky) District of the Irkutsk Region, offers its contributions with songs numbered 1 and 2. We then embark on a melodic voyage to the village of Edarma, situated in the Ust-Ilimsky District.

Irkutsk City adds its voice to the ensemble as well. Parilovo village, residing within the Bratsky District, unveils its musical treasures, resonating with profound authenticity.
The album continues to the village of Keul, situated in the Ust-Ilimsk District. Next, from the heart of the Ust-Ordynsky (Ekhirit-Bulagatsky) District, the village of Tugutuy imparts its emotional resonance.
Echoes from various sources interweave in song number 16. Finally, the village of Kezhma, nestled within the Kezhmensky District of the Krasnoyarsk Region, delivers song number 17.
The Kovcheg Club Ensemble is led by the visionary Elena Karpukhina. The group includes Olga Kostousova, Erast Sukhanovsky, Galina Usova, Maria Domashevskaya, Alexander Malevanny, and Natalya Vologzhina.
