“First Home” is the title of the new album from British ensemble TC & The Groove Family. Release date is June 10, 2022.
The cross-genre new album encompasses a wide range of influences, bringing together Afrobeat, jazz, Latin percussion, Central African psychedelia and UK soundsystem culture.
Bandleader and percussionist Tim Cook says: “It was so exciting to bring this group of people together, who all have their own gift and sound. First Home does not only represent the location of Leeds where we first met, but a state of being for us. We know each other inside out. That close connection we all have playing together, being together, that is our First Home”.
TC & The Groove originally formed as the project of drummer and percussionist Tim Cook. All but one of the group studied at the renowned Leeds College Of Music.
