A 20th Anniversary Celebration of Besh o droM

Besh o droM – 20 (Fonó, 2019)

Hungarian band Besh o droM celebrated its twentieth anniversary with the album titled 20, released in 2019. The band is renowned for its high energy mix of Balkan traditional music styles with modern music such as jazz and funk.

Besh o droM was formed abruptly, without any market research, member recruitment, or joint education. Instead, it came together gradually, incorporating people who seemingly did not fit together; musicians with mixed and, at first glance, mismatched musical styles.

The band includes Lili Kaszai on vocals; Ádám Pettik on vocals, percussion; Gergely Barcza on saxophone, kaval, EWI, clarinet; Attila Herr on bass; Máté Hámori on guitar; József Csurkulya on cimbalom; Vilmos Seres on clarinet, accordion; Tamás Gergely Molnár on saxophone; Ákos Szumper on drums; Péter Vadász on drums; Péter Somos on drums; and Ábel Mihalik on drums.
