On the Path to St. Patrick: The High Kings

The High Kings, an excellent Irish folk music band from Dublin with a focus on vocals and storytelling, recorded Home From Home (Celtic Collections, 2021) live at Concert Deck in Dublin. The album features upbeat and laid back original songs as well as new versions of traditional material.

The band has been unable to tour due to the pandemic. Brian Dunphy says, “this album is our effort to bring us all together until a time when we can meet in person again.”

Home From Home includes a guest appearance by Brian Kennedy on the well known Irish folk song Carrickfergus.

Lineup: Finbarr Clancy on lead and backing vocals and guitar; Brian Dunphy on lead and backing vocals and acoustic guitar; Darren Holden on accordion and lead and backing vocals; and Paul O’Brien on harmonica, mandolin, whistle and lead and backing vocals. Guest: Brian Kennedy on acoustic guitar and vocals.

St. Patrick’s Day will take place March 17, 2021. St. Patrick’s Day celebrates the music and culture of Ireland and the Irish diaspora in any mcountries.
