Elida Almeida, a 27-year old singer form Cape Verde, has a new album titled Gerasonobu. Although Almeida’s roots lie on the island of Santiago, she incorporates a wide range of musical influences.
Gerasonobu’s wandering songs were composed throughout the world, while on tours. “Each time, my creations, in the heart of Cape Verde, were impregnated with the vibrations and music of the territories in which I wrote them“, said Almeida, who is currently living in Portugal.
Her musical partners are Cape Verdean multi-instrumentalist and producer Hernani Almeida and Kenyan DJ, producer and musician Blinky Bill.
