Boston. She will highlight the tradition of the griots, traditional instruments in Mauritanian music, various African rhythms, Arabic lyrics and will conclude with a popular song followed by a question/answer period. It’s free to the

Embracing modern tunes yet spiritually traditional, Malouma performs with a unique melt of African and Arabic rhythms gracefully interweaving blues-accented music with Mauritanian folk, Afro-pop and melodic Arabic lyrics. She is a singer, composer, lyrics writer, musician and women’s rights advocate.

Angel Romero y Ruiz has dedicated his life to musical exploration. His efforts included the creation of two online portals, worldmusiccentral.org and musicasdelmundo.com. In addition, Angel is the co-founder of the Transglobal World Music Chart, a panel of world music DJs and writers that celebrates global sounds. Furthermore, he delved into the record business, producing world music studio albums and compilations. His works have appeared on Alula Records, Ellipsis Arts, Indígena Records and Music of the World.
