Australasian Worldwide Music Expo 2014 to Present a vibrant mix of Australian and international acts

The Australasian Worldwide Music Expo 2014(AWME)will take place in Melbourne this  November 13-16th. The event will present a mix of Australian and international acts including Melbourne’s soul outfit Hiatus Kaiyote, bluesman and guitarist Ash Grunwald, elder statesman and multi-talented Indigenous musician Bart Willoughby, Indigenous hip-hop/soul artist  Jimblah and acoustic troubadour buskers Pierce Brothers, R&B soul singer Ms Murphy and nu-wave brass ensemble Bullhorn.
 
The international acts added to the first round are roots act Nahko and Medicine for the People (USA), blues/roots act Digging Roots (Canada), electronic trip hop artist Estere (NZ), and eclectic jazz/electronic act Myele Manzanza (NZ) .
 
Attracting over 500 national and international music industry delegates (and growing annually). AWME provides a platform to foster stronger relationships between music industry associates by bringing together musicians, industry partners/representatives and festival audiences from all corners of the globe for four days of non-stop music, networking and conference sessions.
 
AWME creates opportunities for artists from the region to market their product to Australian and international buyers whilst simultaneously offering a platform for local, interstate and international audiences to sample an incredible program of music from the region and from around the globe.

Byron Bay local & multi-platinum selling singer/songwriter Pete Murray who will hit the AWME stage for the very first time; as well as Sydney-based artist Declan Kelly presenting his Diesel ‘n’ Dub project, paying homage to the classic Midnight Oil album by giving it his reggae-dub treatment.
 
Other homegrown acts making their debut appearances will be Melbourne-based lasses and soul sistas Chelsea Wilson and Rita Satch, who will showcase their take of modern day jazz and soul; as well musical explorers Oh Pep! with their contemporary folk.
 
Representing the Northern Territory are three very diverse artists on the CAAMA Music label including singer Cassandra Williams; Stewart Gaykamangu who will release his debut solo album in October, as well as desert reggae group Tjintu Desert Band, who will travel from the remote community of Ikuntji (Haasts Bluff) west of Alice Springs.
 
From abroad and covering the Scottish region is Ross Ainslie & Jarlath Henderson,Canada’s Kim Wepme with her powerful stage presence and smoky vocals; and from just across the shores, New Zealand’s Batacuda Sound Machine.
