Brittany to Present off-WOMEX Showcase

The French region of Brittany will present a showcase called Bretagne Land of Music at WOMEX 2013 on Thursday, 24 October.

The artists selected include Krismenn (France), Jacky Molard Quartet (France), and Gipsy Burek Orkestar (FYR Macedonia/France). The night is presented by Conseil Régional de Bretagne, Bretagne(s) World Sounds and Spectacle Vivant en Bretagne.

Multi-instrumentalist Jacky Molard is one of the leading figures in the contemporary Breton folk music scene. He plays fiddle, guitar and bass and is also a renowned composer and producer. Molard has been involved in some of the most important Celtic and folk groups in recent Breton history, such as Den, Archetype, Triptique, Bal Tribal, Gwerz and Pennou Skoulm.
