Neba Solo and Benego Diakité have reached No. 1 on the Transglobal World Music Chart for March 2026 with A Djinn and a Hunter Went Walking.
The CD edition includes two discs featuring Solo on balafon and Diakité on donso ngoni, also known as a hunter’s harp. First, disc one combines their acoustic instrumentals with vocals and percussion, plus subtle additions of Mellotron, guitar, and strings. Then, disc two presents the duo’s original performances in an unadorned format.
The second disc was recorded in a Bamako garden under a mango tree after sunset. Crickets remain audible during the quieter passages.
