Sister Sadie’s Maddie Dalton wins IBMA’s Momentum Instrumentalist of the Year award

Maddie Dalton, the bassist from the heartland of Missouri, and a recent addition to the Sister Sadie band, was honored as one of the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Momentum Instrumentalists of the Year during the 2023 IBMA Momentum Awards Luncheon held in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Dalton, a highly adaptable musician, has been involved in musical performances since her formative years. Her musical background is an intriguing fusion of classical violin training and a profound affection for bluegrass. This unique blend has propelled Dalton on an extraordinary musical path. Earlier this year, she achieved a significant milestone by gracing the stage at the Grand Ole Opry with her debut performance alongside Sister Sadie.

I am so honored to be one of the recipients of this award,” said Dalton. “I am so grateful for all of the opportunities that I have been given. I’m so honored that I was nominated alongside such incredibly talented musicians. Never did I imagine that I would actually win a Momentum Award.”
