Marcela Arroyo – De Par En Par (Double Moon Records, 2021)

Marcela Arroyo, a native Argentine, is surrounded by acoustic instruments on her new album “De Par En Par.” Arroyo settled in Switzerland over 20 years ago and has released several CDs under her name and with the trio Puerta Sur. She composed most of the songs on the album, which showcase a range of emotions.

Arroyo sees music as a way to tell her own stories and is influenced by tango nuevo and traditional folk music. She’s had international success collaborating with well-known musicians in the tango nuevo and Argentinian folk scenes.

Arroyo has released several acclaimed albums, including “Puerta Sur,” “Pasión Poética,” “New Tango Songbook,” and “Tres Mil Uno.”

She studied voice in Buenos Aires and received instruction from renowned artists. Arroyo has performed in Europe and Argentina and was nominated for the BMW Welt Jazz Award 2018 with her Trio Puerta Sur. “De Par En Par” is released by Double Moon Records and co-produced by Swiss National Radio SRF 2 Kultur.
