Ali Farka Touré Claims Top Position on Transglobal World Music Chart for May 2023

The late African guitarist and vocalist, Ali Farka Touré, has secured the coveted top spot on the Transglobal World Music Chart for May 2023 with his exceptional album titled “Voyageur.” This recent release marks the first unveiling of unheard Ali Farka Touré material since the posthumous Grammy-winning album “Ali & Toumani” that emerged in the 2010s.

Voyageur” presents a collection of musical treasures, meticulously compiled from diverse points throughout Ali’s illustrious career. The album showcases the outstanding contribution of fellow Malian luminary, Oumou Sangaré, who sings on three of the tracks with Ali. The album is a true testament to Ali’s extraordinary talent, and it serves as a remarkable tribute to the legacy of one of Africa’s most iconic musicians.
