Henriette Flach – Skyklokke (GO Danish Folk Music, 2022)

In November 2022, musician and composer Henriette Flach released her debut album under her own name. “Skyklokke” delivers a delightful set of modern instrumental pieces rooted in Scandinavian folk traditions hat highlight Henriette Flach’s talent as a composer and highly creative instrumentalist.

Flach is well-known in the Nordic folk music scene, known for her skills as a violinist, nyckelharpist, and harding fiddle player. She has performed in various projects such as Tailcoat, Penny Pascal, and Mynsterland across the Nordics. Flach has also won the Danish Music Award Folk prize Talent of the Year twice, in 2016 and 2019, for her musical inventiveness, clear vision, and compositions.

Henriette Flach says about the album: “The inspiration for the music arose through my many contrasting experiences of recent years. From experiences of a time when everything felt warm and good to experiences where the world seemed cold and difficult. Especially, emotions such as sorrow and gratitude remain strong. Through the perspective of time, it becomes clearer and clearer in my consciousness that “what we have and are, we only have because we have each other” This record is, for me, a reminder of this.”
