Pei-Shu Huang & Taipei Philharmonic Chamber Choir are set to perform at the 2022 World Music Festival @ Taiwan.

Huang has been invited to Europe, Asia, America, and Africa to perform Hakka folk songs. She spent years learning traditional Hakka Mountain songs, rare treasures passed down from her ancestors, and has given them new interpretations based on her inner thoughts.

She is the legacy carrier of Hakka folk songs for the Hakka Affairs Commission, the assistant conductor and pianist for the Taiwanese Hakka Chorus, a writer and performer of music, and a theater worker.

Having actively promoted Hakka folk music visibility, she received the New Taipei City Award for Contribution to Hakka Culture Promotion in 2010.

In 2015, she received nominations for Best Hakka Album and Best Hakka Singer at the Golden Melody Awards for her album Curving Road. She was also nominated for Best Hakka Singer at the 31st and 32nd Golden Melody Awards.

Taipei Philharmonic Chamber Choir

The Taipei Philharmonic Chorus formed in 1972. They then became the Taipei Philharmonic Chamber Choir in 1993 in preparation for international tours and to refine their skill. They are Taiwan’s first choir that performs contemporary choral music without instrumental accompaniment.
They have performed at the World Symposium on Choral Music in Minneapolis/St. Paul, the Next Wave Festival in New York, and Melbourne Festival, among others. In 2016, they performed at the Holy Mass and Canonization of Blessed Mother Theresa of Calcutta in the Vatican. Over the years, they have won Golden Melody Awards for Best Classical Music Album, Best Composer, and Best Vocal Group. More recently, they won Best Vocal Performance at the 30th Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music.
