Artist Profiles: Daniel Herskedal

Daniel Herskedal is an award-winning virtuoso musician and composer, specialized in tuba and bass trumpet. He was born April 2, 1982, in Molde, Møre og Romsdal, Norway.

Herskedal’s captivating style beautifully combines jazz, classical, ambient and Norwegian folk music elements, pushing the boundaries of the tuba to the limit.

In addition to his solo recordings, Herskedal has released albums with the trio Listen, the trio Lochs/Balthaus/Herskedal, Magic Pocket & Morten Qvenild, and Marius Neset.

In 2022, Herskedal was selected to perform as part of the official showcases at the prominent WOMEX world music conference.
