Genre-defying jamani duo hails from western Canada. The two multi-instrumentalists play a wide range of musical instruments from various parts of the globe. The duo’s fascinating hybrid instrumental sound combines classical music, world music rhythms, Argentine tango, Brazilian music and their wonderful instrumental version of George Harrison’s “Here Comes the Sun.”

jamani duo’s sound frequently revolves around the sound of the tenor steel pan, a very popular instrument from Trinidad and Tobago. Each song pairs a different percussion duo multi-layered arrangement.

The husband-and-wife duo includes Jodi Groenheide on steel pans, flute, jembe, vibraphone, cajón, bass drum, toms, china cymbal, clave and conch shell; and Matt Groenheide on cajón, shakers, cymbals, pandeiro, kalimba, jembe, finger shakers, rainstick, congas, bongos, china cymbal, gliss gong and claves.
