A Tribute to Macedonia’s Gypsy Queen

My Last Song – A Tribute to Macedonia’s Gypsy Queen (ARC Music) is a new album from Esma Redžepova and Nune Brothers, scheduled for release on April 23, 2021.

This is the final recording that was made by the celebrated Queen of Gypsy music in eastern Europe. The Nune Brothers began this recording with Esma Redžepova shortly before she passed away. My Last Song features the final songs she ever recorded, presented now as a loving tribute to the “Queen”.

The album contains a mix of lively Balkan pop, salsa, Spanish Gypsy rumba, reggae, swing, and samba, deeply rooted in Balkan sounds from North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania and the Gypsy community across Europe.

The lineup includes Esma Redžepova on vocals; Filip Nunevski on trumpet and vocals; Rade Nunevski on saxophone, clarinet and vocals; Goran Gesovski on bass; Dejvid Demir on guitar; Saso Stojanovski on drums; Viktor Filipovski on percussion; Todor Ushitkov on keyboards; Ana Kostadinovska and Sara Projkovska on backing vocals; and Tair Alus on violin.
