World Music Contest Premio Andrea Parodi Call for Submissions

Premio Andrea Parodi, the only European world music contest, has announced that it is currently accepting submissions for its 14th edition.

The finals will be held in Cagliari (Italy) this fall. The competition is open to artists from all over the world. Registration is free. The deadline for submissions is May 31, 2021. Applications for registration must be sent using the format found on www.fondazioneandreaparodi.it

They must contain:

  • 2 songs (2 mp3 files, including live recordings. indicate with which of the two songs you intend to compete)
  • The pieces cannot be just instrumental and must fall within the canons of world music
  • Lyrics and Italian translations of the two pieces
  • Artistic curriculum or biography of the competitor (single or group)

Among all the entries, an artistic commission will select, anonymously, between five and ten finalists, who will face each other in front of a Technical Jury (made up of experts, authors, musicians, poets, writers and songwriters) and a Critical Jury (journalists and music critics). Both juries, as in previous years, will be composed of authoritative representatives of the sector.

There are several bonuses for the winner, including a series of concerts and participation in some Parodi partner festivals in 2022. In addition to this, the winner will be entitled to a grant of 2,500 euros.

The winner of the critics’ award will be awarded the creation of a music video at the expense of the Andrea Parodi Foundation.
