Various Artists – India Club & Lounge (Free Spirit, 2007)
This is an intriguing presentation of India-influenced club and lounge sounds, spread across two CDs. The first CD, Lounge, has a couple of smooth pieces by Tito Huapaya (“I am”) and DJ Funken Wagnalis (“Luminous Bliss”). Other renditions themed on bliss are by Taylor M and Yikaria.
The uptempo Club CD has another fine track in “All is No One,” by The Turing Test. Other artists worth a mention are Andrew Rothman. Musicians include keyboardist Victor Ruiz and vocalist Ratnabali Adhikari.
