Virtual World Music Festival Chicago 2020 Begins Sunday with Ragamala

The virtual edition of World Music Festival Chicago 2020 will start on Sunday, September 6, 2020. The show is titled Ragamala – A Centennial Tribute to Ravi Shankar. This will be a celebration of Indian classical music, showcasing Hindustani music from North India and Carnatic music from South India.

The artists scheduled to perform include Saraswathi Ranganathan on veena, Dhananjay Kunte on tabla, Heather Boehm on violin, Gaurav Mazumdar on sitar, Aditya Prakash on vocals, Shiva Ramamurthi on violin, Rohan Krishnamurthy on mridangam, Tejendra Narayan Majumdar on sarod, and Arup Chatterjee on tabla.

This event is programmed with People of Rhythm, and recorded in Chicago, New Delhi, Oakland (California), and Kolkata.
