Ana Cecilia Loyo

Venezuelan singer-songwriter and composer Ana Cecilia Loyo specializes in Venezuelan traditional music. She was born in Coro, Falcón State and grew up in the city of Mérida, Mérida State. She has a degree in Industrial Design (2008) and graduated from the Universidad de los Andes in Mérida, Venezuela.

Julio César Marín was her first teacher. Ana Cecilia played guitar for Grupo Cuatropuntus in 2001 and was a vocalist with Voces Mixtas Cuatropuntus in 2002 at the Juan Félix Sanchez House of Culture in Merida city.

She was a founding member of the Venezuelan traditional music group Venezuela Inmensa. The ensemble disseminated traditional since 2003, featuring her own compositions and works by other Venezuelan composers. They performed in Merida and throughout other states in Venezuelan. The repertory included gaitas, parrandas, calipsos, golpe larenses, joropo oriental, tonadas, malagueñas, margariteñas, valses, bambucos. Venezuela Inmensa released two albums.

In July 2012, she was invited by the Venezuelan Consulate General in Bilbao, Spain and performed a concert at the Euskalduna Music Palace in Bilbao.

Ana Cecilia currently lives in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas. In Caracas she formed an a cappella vocal group called Atapaima.

In 2013, Ana Cecilia released her first solo album, Sol Mayor.

In 2019 and 2019 she presented the show Ciudad de Guacamayas, Postales Caraqueñas.
