Kumar Bose

Pandit Kumar Bose was born April 4, 1953. He is one of India’s most respected and skilled tabla players. He is the most established disciple of the legendary maestro, Pandit Kishan Maharaj, belonging to the Benares gharana (school) of tabla playing, and is equally regarded for his tabla solo recitals as well as his accompaniment. Kumar Bose has performed and recorded with some of the greatest Indian musicians, including Ravi Shankar.
