Flamenco Star Diego El Cigala to Perform at Stern Auditorium in New York in May

Award-winning flamenco vocalist Diego el Cigala is set to perform on Friday, May 8, 2015 in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. Diego el Cigala is a three-time Grammy Award-winning singer who combines flamenco, bolero, and Argentine tango. His recent Argentine tango project was the subject of his 2013 Latin Grammy Award–winning album Romance de la luna Tucumana and will be the focus of this concert.

Diego el Cigala has fascinated audiences all over the world with his passionate vocals and interpretation of flamenco. His various collaborations with world-renowned Latin American artists have earned him a reputation for seamlessly fusing the rhythms and melodies of his Spanish Gitano (Gypsy) heritage. His rise to international fame came in 2003 after the release of Lágrimas Negras, his collaboration with the admired Cuban pianist Bebo Valdés. The album won a Latin Grammy Award.
