Haciendo Historia is the first major U.S. release by a new Cuban dance band in 10 years. Alexander Abreu’s Habana d Primera is a dazzling band that includes some of the finest studio musicians in Cuba who played with the top bands during the dance music wave of the 1990’s.
Habana d Primera is led by trumpet player Alexander Abreu. For many years, he has performed with some of the leading salsa and timba musicians in Cuba. Habana d Primera is one of the most popular dance bands in Cuba today with the highest audience draws in the island. The musical genres in Haciendo Historia include passionate straight-up salsa, fiery timba, seductive son, pilon, Cubanized funk and jazz.
