London, UK – Atlantic Waves, London International Festival of Exploratory Music, showcases the Portuguese guitar this year. Best known for accompanying fado, Portuguese guitar makes its UK debut in a leading role. Three of the most respected Portuguese guitar players, revered master António Chaínho, sophisticated innovator Custódio Castelo and young talent Ricardo Parreira demonstrate their variety of approaches to mastering the tear-shaped, 12-stringed instrument.

Atlantic Waves features 22 concerts in 8 days, with more than 70 artists from around the world, including Portugal, Brazil, Cape Verde, Angola, Israel, Lithuania, Estonia, Georgia, UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Finland, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland, USA, Canada, Japan and Australia.
