Australia’s immigrant communities have grown considerably in the last decades
and this has affected the music that is being produced there. The Doch Gypsy
Orchestra is a brass and string band formed by seven Australian musicians who
collaborate with Eastern European performers.

The size of the live orchestra varies from time to time, but it can include up to thirty musicians. The overall result is a combination of Balkan, Klezmer and even Latin music influences.

The album was recorded live at The Powerhouse Theatre in Brisbane and it has
that powerful live feel, with frequent violin and brass solos and brilliant
improvisations.
