“Obbakoso” is the new single from Michael League, Antonio Sánchez, and Pedrito Martínez, under the band name Elipsis. The track builds from Martínez’s congas and lead vocals into Sánchez’s heavily effected drum set.
The arrangement expands with League’s Malian ngoni, acoustic guitar, Moog bass, and keyboards, creating a dialogue between folkloric roots and modern production.
“Obbakoso” features one of the upcoming album’s more memorable hooks (“omwara baba”).
